FILM: KARANLIK GECE

The film tells the story of Ishak, a lonely saz musician who roams the nightclubs of Anatolia and is forced to return to his hometown after 8 years of self-exile. But it is also the story of Ferhat, a disturbed outsider.
The story is about a man who wanders alone through the forest, and about Sirma, a woman from the big city who occasionally visits a small town to look after her children.

Ali, a forester who came to the city eight years ago and disappeared without a trace. Things that are buried deep in the past come to the surface. Ultimately, it is the secret that Ishak and his childhood friends share that haunts him, his friends and, in fact, the whole country.

Özcan Alper, born in 1975, is a Turkish film director and screenwriter with Hemshin roots. He studied at the Trabzon Lisesi and later transferred to Istanbul University, where he studied history. His debut film SONBAHAR (AUTUMN), 2008, received several awards. BLACK NIGHT won the main prize at the international film festival of the Mediterranean Cinémed in 2023.
