Seventeen-year-old Alkistis is spending one last summer at her family’s weekend home on the Athenian Riviera. Her father,
, died in an accident, and her mother is now financially forced to sell the vacation home on the outskirts of the city.
She has no time for sentimentality or her daughter. And since Alkistis’s best friend is looking for adventure, the girl finds solace only in the palm tree in the garden and in the arms of an older man. But even this romance seems doomed to fail. With sensual imagery and a touch of melancholy under
the Mediterranean sun, RIVIERA offers insight into the psyche of a young woman navigating challenging times.

Orfeas Peretzis studied psychology at the University of Stirling (Scotland), film directing at the UCA (United Kingdom), and screenwriting at the London Film School. He has already directed short films, documentaries, and TV miniseries. RIVIERA, his first feature film, won several awards at the Thessaloniki Film Festival, including the FIPRESCI Prize.
