Zoé and Volta set off. They leave their remote homeland, leave their families and village life behind and start a new life in Pristina. They both enrol at university. But the place,
which was supposed to offer them a better future, is one thing above all: a scene of political and social unrest. Eight years after the end of the war, the two are confronted with a conflict that divides society as a whole and threatens to dash their hopes. Driven by the search for a new identity of their own, a conflict about tradition and innovation erupts in Kosovo in 2007 – a moving insight into a youth in a phase of social upheaval.
Luàna Bajrami (*2001) is a French-Kosovar actress and director. Early contacts with the film world led to a nomination for the César for Best Newcomer Actress
in 2019 for her role as Sophie in PORTRAIT DE LA JEUNE FILLE EN FEU. Her first successes as a director followed: her film LA COLLINE OÙ RUGISSENT LES LIONNES was awarded Best Debut Film at the Stockholm Film Festival in 2021.
