Agim and Gëzim, identical twins in their thirties, share a strong brotherly love. They are deaf, but this does not interfere with their everyday lives. One day, they receive news that changes everything: They have a rare hereditary disease and will also lose their sight. Together and with Gëzim’s friend Ana by their side, they are confronted with their changed relationship to the world. Together over a cup of coffee, the two brothers have to redefine their relationship as they try to adapt to their new lives.

Gentian Koçi (*1979 in Tirana) studied film and television directing at the Academy for Film and Multimedia and worked as a cameraman for a television channel in Tirana. His short films and documentaries have screened at many national and international festivals and won several awards. Koçi’s first feature-length film DAYBREAK (2017) was shown at over 50 festivals and won further awards. COFFEE AND A PAIR OF NEW SHOES is Koçi’s second feature film.
