In a village in southern Egypt, a group of young girls rebel by founding a street theater group. They dream of becoming actresses, dancers and singers and challenge their Coptic families and the people in the region with their daring performances. Over the course of four years, the documentary follows the journey of these young girls as they become women. The film celebrated its premiere at the Semaine de la Critique in Cannes.

Nada Riyadh (*1987) is an Egyptian filmmaker. She co-directed her first feature-length documentary HAPPILY EVER AFTER with Ayman El Amir (*1981 in Yemen). Their short fiction film FAKH screened in the 2019 Semaine de la Critique competition, which Ayman El Amir produced. He also works as a consultant screenwriter.
