Mehdi’s life is in a fragile balance. He plays the perfect Algerian son for his mother Fatima, while hiding his relationship with Léa and his passion for French cuisine from her. He is a chef in a bistro that he wants to buy together with Léa. But Léa has had enough of his secrets and demands to meet Fatima. With his back to the wall, Mehdi comes up with the worst possible solution …

After training as an actor, Amine Adjina played for numerous theater directors, as well as in film with Sébastien Lifshitz. A theater director himself, he runs the Compagnie du Double with Émile Prévosteau. Many of his plays are published by Actes Sud. He is co-directing Théorème / Je me sens un coeur à aimer toute la terre for the Comédie Française in 2023. He is a graduate screenwriter at FEMIS. La petite Cuisine de Mehdi is his first feature film.
