Founded in 1582 by Pierre Verchant, a citizen of Montpellier, the winery belonged to the so-called “Folies Montpellieraines”. In 1878, the estate was acquired by Jules Leenhardt, who transformed part of it into landscaped gardens and developed the planting of new vines to combat phylloxera.

In 2002, the Mestre family took over the vineyard and established the first 5-star hotel in the Occitanie region with a gourmet restaurant and a first-class spa area. The winery is located east of Montpellier, in the outstanding wine-growing region of La Méjanelle.

In April 2022, the cultivation area was expanded with the acquisition of Château des Mazes, bringing the total area under cultivation to 40 ha. Aimé Sain, the head winemaker, will introduce you to a selection of wines full of character during the wine tasting, which get their flavor from the upper pebble layer and an additional fine note from the proximity to the sea.
