BAL POPULAIRE: FOR THE FRENCH NATIONAL HOLIDAY
A ball with the trio “Runnn” – live music
In the courtyard of the Montpellier House, free admission
As every year, we cordially invite everyone to celebrate our Bal populaire in the courtyard of the Montpellier House just in time for the French national holiday. René Hennequin on guitar and Simon Doué on accordion were with us last year and now form the trio “Runnn” with Fredem Segelstein on clarinet. René Hennequin had already been traveling the country with his festive guitar for 9 years when the band came together in Montpellier in 2019. This time it won’t be pure “Bal Trad”: The trio will charm with a refreshing French hanson on a dusted-off and contemporary repertoire. With folk songs from yesterday and today, inspired by lyricists from here and elsewhere, Runnn balances its musical influences from the guinguette style with some inspiration from world music such as cumbia and gypsy jazz. Of course, our sunny wines from Montpellier will also be available to taste at this French festival, as well as the typical charcuterie and cheese platters.
From 6pm in the courtyard of the Montpellier House: the trio “Runnn” will introduce us to a few dances that will be played during the concert …
From 19.00: The trio delights us with their concert
From around 10 p.m.: As always, everyone can sing along to French hits from the 60s to the present day at Haus Karaoké.
