Neige has a close relationship with her Algerian grandfather, who always protected her from her parents’ toxicity as a child. There is a lot of bitterness among the various family members and the tensions between them run deep. The death of her grandfather, who was the backbone of the Algerian-French family, triggers a deep identity crisis for Neige. Since then, she has wanted to understand and get to know her DNA. ADN is a touching reflection on loss and family roots, refined with a dash of humor.
Maïwenn Le Besco (*1976) is a French actress, screenwriter and director. She usually also plays herself in her films. At the 36th Mediterranean Film Festival, she was the protagonist in Tralala. ADN is her fifth feature film and was in competition at the 73rd Cannes Film Festival.
