Film HOLDING LIAT by Brandon Kramer

On October 7, 2023, Liat Beining Atzili and her husband are kidnapped from the kibbutz by Hamas terrorists. On October 8, 2023, Brandon Kramer begins to accompany those closest to them with his camera. He records at close range how the family fights to free their daughter through political pressure. Presented for the first time at the 75th Berlinale 2025, this documentary provides deep insights into a politically divided country whose conflicts reverberate even in the closest family circles.

The American director, producer and cinematographer Brandon Kramer studied film and cultural anthropology in Boston before founding the film production company Meridian Hill Pictures with his brother Lance. He attracted attention with CITY OF TREES (2015), THE MESSY TRUTH (2016) and THE FIRST STEP (2021), among others. He received the Berlinale Documentary Award for HOLDING LIAT, among others.
