Director Ale and actor Alex decide to go their separate ways after 15 years of dating. And that calls for a celebration – at least if you believe an old saying from Ale’s father. He always said that break-ups, not weddings, were a reason to celebrate. However, those close to the couple think the news is a bad joke. The ex-couple are all the more determined to convince everyone of the end of their relationship with a farewell party. Especially themselves. This absurd comedy questions social norms with clever wit and celebrates the “beauty of separation”.
Jonás Trueba, born in Madrid in 1981, son of the well-known director Fernando Trueba, made his debut feature TODAS LAS CANCIONES HABLAN DE MI 15 years ago. Since then, the young filmmaker has made eight films, all of which are characterized by their poetic, experimental narrative style and closeness to life. He is regarded as the voice of young Spanish cinema.
