Film OUR WILDEST DAYS by Vasilis Kekatos

As part of the 40th Mediterranean Film Day 23.1. – 8.2.2025

Greece, Belgium, France, Germany 2024/ Director: Vasilis Kekatos/ Cast: Daphné Patakia, Nikolakis Zegkinoglou, Stavros Tsoumanis, Popi Semerlioglou, Natalia Swift, Eva Samioti a.o./ 104 min. Original language

In his first feature-length film, Kekatos tells the story of a young woman, Chloé, who leaves her family and sets off to find her older sister. Her journey develops into a road trip full of fleeting encounters. Chloé and the companions she finds along the way are driven by a longing for freedom, community and empathy – in contrast to the social coldness, poverty and marginalization that surround them. Praised at the Berlinale for its sensitive portrayal of the characters and its poetic visual language, I AGRIES MERES MAS MAS establishes Kekatos as a promising voice of young European auteur cinema.
Born in 1991 on the Greek island of Kefalonia and based in Athens, Vasilis Kekatos first made several short films after studying film in London, which screened at renowned international film festivals. In 2019, he received the Short Film Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival for his short film THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US AND THE SKY.
