HEIDELBERG FALL FANFARE BAND: LES BACKCHICHS FROM MONTPELLIER
With music and catering from the south
in front of the Jesuit Church, Richard-Hauser-Platz,
69117 Heidelberg, free admission
65 years of city twinning with Montpellier, 40 years of the Montpellier House: this CALLS for a big celebration! So, for the third time, we’re inviting the ever-lively fanfare band Les Backchichs from Montpellier: 15 musicians whose music really comes into its own on the street. From jazz to Java, from music of the Languedoc to South American traditions, including French chansons and original compositions—the Les Backchichs brass band adapts to any situation, spreads good cheer, and gets us all dancing…
We certainly can’t leave out our authentic Mediterranean caterer, Adrien Guillard! Having traveled all the way from Sète, he’ll once again be serving us his freshly caught seafood, delicious oysters, mussels, and other specialties from the south of France. The Montpellier House will then pair these dishes with full-bodied wines from the Montpellier metropolitan region.
Musicians: Trumpets: Jean-Luc, Raphaël, Greg, Nell, and Alain / Trombones: Eric, Domi, and Emmanuel / Clarinet: Jacques; Alto saxophone: Claire and Hervé / Tenor saxophone: Sylvie and Véronique / Baritone saxophone: Fredotte and Vincent; Tuba: Sarah / Snare drum: Guillaume / Bass drum: Jean-Pierre
