SWING – LINDY HOP
Lindy Hop is an energetic dance that originated in the black American community of the jazz era (Harlem, New York) in the late 1920s and 1930s. As Montpellier is considered one of the strongholds of swing, it made sense to invite the Swinging Montpellier association to teach a few new combinations to intermediate and advanced dancers.
Remy Kouakou Kouamé, star and artistic director of the festival in Montpellier, has won numerous titles such as French Champion and World Champion in Boogie Woogie. Leticia Martin has been a Lindy Hopper since 2011. Her dance is nourished by the diversity of jazz styles.
In Heidelberg, the SwingStep school is part of a lively dance community whose teachers will introduce beginners to the dance at the workshop.
